keeping my life organized

my ayah
- practical, traditional, and organized.
- not interested in theory unless he sees the practical application.
- has clear visions of the way things should be.
- hard-working.
- likes to be in charge.
- exceptionally capable in organizing and running activities.
- "Good citizens" who values security and peaceful living.

my mama
- warm-hearted.
- tends to put the needs of others over her own needs.
- feels strong sense of responsibility and duty.
- values traditions and security.
- interested in serving others.
- needs positive reinforcement to feel good about themselves.

me myself
- do not like conflict, and not likely to do things which may generate conflict.
- loyal and faithful.
- extremely well-developed senses, and aesthetic appreciation for beauty.
- flexible.
- likely to be original and creative.
- enjoy the present moment.

am i more like my dad or mom? :-?

honestly, there are attributes of my ayah and mama that i really wanted to have.
above all are "to be a more organized person" like my ayah and "to be a warm-hearted person" like my mama.

right now, i'm trying to increase my organization by doing certain activities that i think might help.
i try to make those activities as my habits in order to become "naturally" organized person.

examples of those activities are:
- to take care of things; sort through the mails, receipts, etc. e.g. junks go into the bin, bills go into a proper file to be handled during my regular bill-paying time, answer or delete emails as appropriate.
- spend a few hours each day (or at least each week) cleaning up my workspace; put everything in its proper place e.g. filing cabinets.
- always carry a notepad and a pen with me to jot down any important things, ideas, to do things, etc.

but, there's a thing that i really have to do tapi susah sangat nak disiplin.
to record my expenses!
i did record my expenses during my 1st few months back then in germany.
but then slowly i stopped doing that sebab malas and memang selalu tak consistent pun.
actually it really helps in controlling my expenses and to make sure that i tak over-budget.
i wanted to start over but, you know, things like "okay i'll start tomorrow, or maybe next week, or next month, or how about next year mm", got it?

people can't learn to be organized overnight.
well, building or breaking any habit takes time.
but, at first, you have to force yourself to do something.
and after a few weeks, you'll start doing it more naturally.

so, caiyok aishah.

kita mulakan dengan beli organizer..

of sabah trip

sabah trip was awesome.
we managed to follow our planned itinerary very well.
almost all of the planned itinerary checked.
thanks to the great planner :"> ^smile shy shy^

actually, 5 days are more than enough.
in fact, we were out of energy during the 5th day.

of course there were imperfections here and there.
you know, things like selalu kena pau by locals, expensive foods and merchandises.
but overall, i can say that we had fun.
yes, we had fun!

there was a thing we did that i wasn't plan to do it earlier.
to watch rafflesia!
cool, huh?
actually we came across a banner in front of the locals' house stating "rafflesia blooming".
we stopped at the house and were told that there is rafflesia blooming at the back of their house.
of course we had to pay to watch it, but why not?
we cannot find rafflesia like anywhere in the world, right?

KK, i'll visit you again surely.
and next time, with mr. husband, insyaAllah ngee :D

my last semester break

today is the 1st day for my 4th semester of being a master's student.
anyway, this is the final semester.
yeah i know, time flies very fast.
i feel like it's just a few months after my registration day for the mba program.

my 2-weeks semester break was filled up with many enjoyable moments.
it started with a raya fabric hunting and ended with my BFF's reception.

here is the summary of my so called 'holiday' (excluded the time i spent at the spa):

monday 14th: finishing & submitting my last 2 assignments
tuesday 15th: pengapit attire & raya fabric hunting
wednesday 16th: finding tailor for my baju raya
thursday 17th: packing for my sabah trip
friday 18th - tuesday 22nd: trip to sabah with BFFs
wednesday 23rd: fine dining with my sayang
thursday 24th: selendang & kasut for pengapit attire hunting
friday 25th: off to saz's & de palma hotel for saz's reception preparations
saturday 26th: saz's awesome reception
sunday 27th: catching up tom cruise in knight & day

now i feel so much recharged for the new semester.
alhamdulillah, the results are quite good for the last sem.
even i was not able to get 4 flat but i'm satisfied enough with the results.

ohh being in final semester, of course there is a research project to be done.
i still don't have a topic yet for my dissertation.
any suggestions, girls?
fyi, i'm interested in staffing, HRD or OB categories.
but still unable to narrow the topic down.

yes i need more readings.

fabric hunting

hi hi.

mm 2 months before Ramadhan, but most of tailors around dah tutup tempahan.
so yesterday me & adek went for fabric-for-baju-raya hunting.
well, we went to jalan tar lah mane lagi.
yes, cheapskate we are.

anyway, our theme color for this year is RED.
not light red or maroon red, but seriously RED - blood red.

at first, it was kind of challenging to find for a red fabric with nice design.
we are looking for ones with no big flowers or corak2 serabut yang menyeramkan.
the problem is kami senang jatuh hati dengan kain warna purple and pink.
but that was our last year's theme!
takkan nak repeat kan takkan nak repeat isk.

after about an hour, we found a red cotton with a very nice design.
but but, we didn't settle in one shop.
sebab kami takkan beli banyak2 di kedai sama kalau tiada yang berkenan.
walaupun tuan kedai nak bagi diskaun kalau beli dua, tiga atau lebih diskaun untuk empat.
we didn't want to compromise on our baju raya!
raya bukan main-main! huh emo.

we spent hours there, walked around from a shop to another.
at last, we managed to get four of nice red cottons for me & my sisters.
aww sangat tema - same color and same material.

but the fabric hunting did not end there.
we still have to find one for mama.
but it was already 1540 and we have not pray yet.
so we decided to get out from jalan tar, pray elsewhere and continue with mama's fabric hunting at gulati's in kajang.

sadly at gulati's, we did not manage to find a similar red washable fabric for mama.
kalau ada pun, corak sangat astaghfirullah.
tapi sebab kami dah menyusahkan abang pakistan bukak kain banyak2, kami terpakse settle for one.
so we ended up buying a fabric that is out of theme for mama.
it is red but not blood red, more to orangey red.

takpelah, saya akan berusaha cari kain yang sama untuk mama.
kain yang tu boleh guna untuk baju hari raya kedua.

selamat mengganti puasa!

stressful weeks have ended

after 3 stressful weeks, finally my exams have ended.
frankly, they all did not go that great.
okay la, biasa2 je macam biasa2.

i got 3 papers last week - HR Management, Organizational Theory & Design and OB.
and my last exam was just now - Business Research Method.
ohh by the way i did not do much studies on the last paper (if i am to compare with other papers).
i don't know, maybe i was already in holiday mood.
i don't expect much from the paper actually.
but luckily the questions are more to common sense and general views.
so i managed to goreng2 a bit here and there. phew.

but honestly, i'm so poor in time management.
not only in my daily life, but also in exams.
i normally will spend too much of the given time on the 1st part of the paper.
and so little time for the 2nd part of the paper.

pastuh setiap kali lepas exam menyesal dan berjanji lain kali nak jawab cepat2 tak nak fikir pasal tulisan buruk ataupun pen kaler2.
tapi tiap kali exam pun same. ptuih.

and the stressful weeks weren't actually just because of the exams and projects & assignmentssss to be finished.
my sayang was away for 2 weeks for a family trip.
saket hati bila stress tapi takde tempat nak mengadu domba. ceh gedik kau.

but now he's back baybeh.
he got me 2 shawls from tie rack london.
ah sebab the promotion was 2 for 20 pounds.
how i wish it was 4 for 30 pounds ke ape kan.
itu sahaja! itu sahaja sebab kami mahu mengumpul wang ye.

and this is the shawl.

nice kan?
another one is in pink.
ohh he knows my favorite colors :">

i tak nak obese

i don't drink soft drink.
not because of the high sugar level contained.
but because i simply don't like it.
i think many of my friends are like me too.
but i know my sisters - adek & tiah - love it.
eh love coke to be specific.

we nowadays consume way too much sugar already.
in our foods, our teh ais, our milo ais, our nescafe ais, our neslo ais, our teh o ais limau.
okay2 annoying kan nak sebut semua air kegemaran.
so by not taking soft drink, at least i'm better than adek & tiah :D

what i may say - please switch to healthier drinks!
healthier drinks such as water and milk.
if you don't want, then just stop your kids n you continue sukehatikamulah.
believe me, it's a battle worth fighting.

sugar-sweeteed drinks not only cause dangerous diseases.
but also a driving force behind obesity.
you nak? i tak nak you.

did you know that one can of soft drinks has 10 teaspoons of sugar?
yeahh i know you know!
surprisingly, we know but we buat-buat donno.
