thepoplook.com

shopping is one of my hobbies & also kind of a therapy for me.
when i feel sad or down about something, one of many ways to make me feel much better is - shopping!
and i think it really works.

buying things can somehow lifts my spirit.
it doesn't matter whether i'm buying for myself or for others.
and it doesn't matter whether i'm really buying or just imagining it!
imagining = window shopping / reading catalogue / online shops browsing.

my current favorite online fashion shop is thepoplook.com.
and these are my little poplook collection to date (from top-left: polka chiffon maxi dress in deep pink, ophelia maxi dress in fuschia, kimono cardigan in black, slinky pleat romper in mustard, ophelia maxi dress in dark green, polka chiffon maxi dress in pink & juliet romper in teal).

frankly, i have a love-hate relationship with thepoplook.com.
why would i say that?
is because i'm loving almost all of their collections, but i hate myself for not having much $$$ to buy all.

for example, i really want this one particular dress that they uploaded today, like, really.. really..

shirt maxi dress

isn't it beautiful?
but this month, i have spent too much on new tops / dresses / pants / skirts.
more shopping will turn me broke (true story).
so i guess, this time i'll have to pass.

let's see if i can really hold myself from buying...

a victorian tea party

last week, i got an invitation for a victorian little tea party organized by shazwani hamid which was happening yesterday.

the party was for her blog's 3rd anniversary & it was really private because she invited only about 20 lucky readers.
so yeay, i was one of them.
prolly because i am the 1st person who commented on this entry --> care for a cuppa?

knowing that the theme was "victorian", frankly, i don't have anything victorian in my wardrobe.
anyway, keys to victorian outfits are ruffles, pleated, laces, black, white, velvet, pearls, feathers, etc.

so i tried searching for a victorian outfit the other day & i found this beautiful black long-sleeved lace dress.
i wanted to pair the dress with a pants or skirt, but i cannot find any nice matching pants/skirt.

but then i remembered that i have this one chiffon top with ruffles at the front.
it's not black or white (it's blue) but i was thinking of "modernizing" the victorian style with something vibrant.
and in order to make it more victorian, i bought a small headpiece with feathers & a victorian-ey chunky ring to complete the style.

cozy place, nice foods & great companions.. we had fun enjoying our tea/coffee with some english scones, pies, sandwiches, chocolate & butter cakes, belgium chocs, cookies, etc.
there was a little game too, lucky draws & best dress award which i won nothing, as usual.
but still, there's still something from queen wani for everyone - each of us got an o.p.i. nail lacquer as a doorgift - thanks wani!
and thanks for organizing a very nice tea party.
for the next party or gathering, please count me in!

so these are the pics from my camera & handphone from the party.

camel is the new black

hello lovelies, how's your hari raya preparation so far?
or should i be asking, how's your ramadhan so far?

okay frankly, i'm already in hari raya mode.
we are still days away from hari raya, but the festive mood is very much felt in the air, no?
if you can't feel the festive mood yet, i suggest you to go to any shopping malls or shopping spots.
immediately, you'll get what i meant.

everybody's busy buying things for hari raya and so do i.
although i've made early preparation for my raya attires, there are still a few things that are not yet ready.
raya shoes, raya bag, raya tudung, raya accessories, etc.

and since i have quite a number of raya attires for this year, it's difficult for me to find a raya bag and raya shoes that match the whole set of my raya attires.
so i need to find something neutral that can goes well with everything.

normally, i'd go for gold for hari raya - gold colored heels + gold colored clutch + gold colored long necklace.
it's becoming too predictable, so this year, i'm thinking of staying away from gold color.

at first, i was thinking to switch to black.
but i'm not a 'black' person because i appreciate colors and i'm a very colorful person.
i can wear pink pants with yellow top and turquoise hijab.
so i don't think i can pull out black accessories because it is so not me.

so can you tell me what's the ultimate neutral color?
.
.
.
.
it's a camel!

source: google

yes, camel is my favorite neutral by far.
i think, the color looks sophisticated but at the same time, not boring!
it looks so chic yet elegant and classic.
so i really think that all girls should invest in camel colored accessories.

the color goes well with everything, seriously.
you can pair the color with almost every color and you can't go wrong with this ultimate neutral color.

hush puppies cyra

camel oxford flats

so what do you think of camel?

p/s to aini, camel and gold is different.
bawah ni warna gold.
