anniversary in krabi (part 1)

ouh it took me 2 months to blog about our krabi trip.
i should do this earlier, now that it's already months, i started to forgot things about this lovely trip.

we were there on april to celebrate our 1st year's anniversary, to enjoy some sand & sea together.
we love krabi so much that we felt like staying there forever.
it was nothing like here.
we love the fact that nobody rushed, even the tourist didn't.
it was a very relaxing 4 days in our lives.

we stayed at sunda resort.
it is just a 2- or 3-star resort, i think.
i got the room very cheap from groupon.
the resort is not located by the beach, but there was a free shuttle service from the resort to the beach area from morning till night.
the room was just so-so, but we loved the service.
the staff were really helpful, like really really.
there are plenty of nice hotels & resots in krabi.
competition is tough & that's why they were giving us the best that they have, well, that's just my assumption tho.

we did nothing on our first day because we arrived quite late.
we did go out to get something for dinner.
we had our dinner at chaba halal restaurant.
after that we tried to find something to do on our next day.
so we talked to a trip tour agent & have chose to go to phi phi island.

the second day, phi phi island boat trip it is.
we went to several places including pileh bay, monkey bay, maya bay, viking cave, phi phi don island & bamboo island (i think there are lots more, but i just can't remember).
the view at pileh bay is fantastic, so does at maya bay.
apart from sightseeing, we also did some snorkeling.
my husband does not like snorkeling like i do, so he didn't enjoy that activity like i did.
it's like having fun time all alone.
i wish "my snorkeling friends" were there, well, you know who you are.

the boat trip was a 1-day trip from 8am to 4pm.
we were back to our hotel, feeling so tired.
i called a masseur for a thai massage session in our hotel room.
the thai massage was really good, maybe because the masseur is a thai lady & i do it in thailand.
haha does it make sense to you?
later at night, we had our dinner at the same restaurant like a night before, chaba restaurant.
i don't know why we chose to have our 2nd dinner at the very same restaurant, maybe because we were too tired to think.

third day, our initial plan was to have an elephant trekking or kayaking or water rafting (there are so much things you can do in krabi), but we didn't have the energy to do so.
we were still tired haha, so we just walked around the aonang beach town the whole day.
we did some shopping for families, friends and of course for ourselves.

later at night, we had a candlelight dinner to celebrate our 1st anniversary at the hotel.
i told the lady at the reception that it is our anniversary so we want to have a proper dinner for 2 & it would be great to have a candlelight dinner.
we were really surprised that they did their best for the dinner.
we thought that we would be having that candlelight dinner at their restaurant, but they placed us in a special room & did a great preparation for us (with no extra cost).
there was romantic background music being played for us & they left us in that room after they served our foods, leaving just the two of us.
well, i guess the rest is history :)
it was a lovely effort from them & we do really appreciate it.

forth day which is our last day, we woke up late.
we did nothing until 12pm, when the taxi guy picked us up at the hotel.

so there was our sweet escape.
it was a sweet, memorable anniversary to the both us!

p/s: part 2 is coming up for pictures.

the award of "the best husband" goes to.....

for the past six days, i have had a bad sore throat, cough, running nose & headache.
it's a complete package.
the temperature was quite high but only for the first day & subsided after i took some panadols.

i didn't go to any clinic because i thought it was just a normal fever that would last for 2-3 days.
my husband insisted to bring me to a doctor, but ohh well, stubbornness rules!
after a few sleepless night, a few days of coughing & up to the level that i feel pain in my chest, i finally go to the clinic 2 days back.

you know why i'd prefer to buy my own meds from the pharmacy than seeing doctor.
because i don't see a point of seeing doctor (for normal flu) when i can get the meds directly from the pharmacy.

you know what has happened that day when i went to the clinic.
the doctor asked me as soon as i entered his room "sakit apa ye?".
and i said, "sakit kepala".
he checked my temperature & he just said, "okay, saya bagi awak ubat sakit kepala".
it's weird when i kept on coughing n sneezing in his room, but he didn't ask a thing about that & just let me go back with just painkillers.
ohh he did ask me, "nak MC tak?"
wow, maybe normally people go to see him to get easy MC.
i replied, "takpe, saya tak kerja".
i think the so called 'consultation' only happened for less than 5 minutes, err, or maybe 3.
and i have been charged 25 bucks for the painkillers + 'consultation'.

later in that day, my husband came home from work & i came home early that day because i can't stand the headache.
i felt cold & warm at the same time & the temperature was quite high.
he then went to the pharmacy to get me some additional meds plus antibiotics, forced me to eat all & zzzz.. i slept early because some of the meds cause drowsiness.

ohh i forgot to tell you.. he made me breakfast for 3 days straight already, he made sure my prayer mat is ready before solat, he folded my telekung everytime after solat (more to gulung-gulung sesuka hati actually), he made me hot milo every now & then (walaupun tawar sebenarnya).. and he did many more sweet things.

at 5am yesterday, i woke up by myself & felt quite good.
no headache, no running nose, but there's still cough.
i was actually really touched by my husband's sweetness (okay, boleh muntah sekarang), so i decided to write some love notes for him that he can read when he wakes up for work (he always woke up earlier than me).

the problem was, i don't have any art card or fancy papers with me until suddenly i got the idea of writing that notes on his ipad & make it as the ipad's homescreen background.
so this is it, drew on doodle buddy app for ipad.

wah, very much earth-friendly!

owh, sorry for the geli-geli entry.
just take it as the after-effect of watching ombak rindu LOL.

ombak rindu

i'm proud to say that i am a fan of romantic movies, be it comedic or serious type.
i'm not really into action / thriller / horror / fiction ones.
for me, movies are medium that are used to change our state.
i like to watch romantic movies because they really can change my state.
from one state to another, for example, from sad to happy or the other way round.
the most important thing for a movie to be claimed as successful is if the movie can inject feelings among its audiences.

i do watch both malay & english movies.
and i have to agree that english movies are better in terms of quality compared to the local ones.
but that doesn't stop me from watching our local-made movies.

obviously this entry is for 'ombak rindu' that i watched this morning.
the story of 'ombak rindu' is taken from one of the famous malay novels back then which is titled, well, 'ombak rindu'.
i don't know who's the author & i'm too lazy to google the name, but i have read the novel before.
it was a very long time ago, i think about 8 or 9 years back when i was in matriculation.
if i'm not mistaken, the novel belongs to one of my housemates.
that was the first & the last time i read that novel.
and honestly, i don't remember the storyline at all.

watching it just now made all the stories come back to my head.
you know it when you go like, ohh i do remember this, ohh i know her, ohh i remember him, ohh dialog ni aku ingat lagi, ohh lepas ni rasanya jadi tu jadi ni, yada yada.

i can say that the movie of 'ombak rindu' is a duplication of its novel which is translated into visual.
the story is very much the same as what was written in the novel.

selection of actors & actresses is just so-so.
aaron aziz fits the character very well, but not for the heroin, which is maya karin.
it's weird to have a naive village girl who speaks malay with pelat matsalleh.
and being an ustazah mengaji there are couple of scenes where she recites alquran, well, i'm not really good myself, but i know basic tajwid & i think the recitations are not properly delivered by her.
it's okay if she's just a normal village girl, but it's not okay since she's an ustazah mengaji.
as we all know, bront palarae is a good actor & yes, he serves the character really well.
as for lisa surihani, i think, there's a slight improvement on her acting, but still, there's a lot more room to improve.

the story runs too fast & looks a bit 'rushing', but i take that as the weakness of putting a novel into a movie.
it's actually impossible to deliver the whole story from a novel into a 2-hour movie.

overall, i rate the movie as 3/5.
above average simply because i love watching romantic love story, so i'm being biased here.
