shazwani hamid's birthday bash (part 1)

hi girls, this entry is somewhat outdated already.
actually there are so much things that i wanted to write down in this blog, but due to my lazy-ness, i have neglected my blog for quite some time & i'm very sorry for that.

anyway, last january was shazwani hamid's birthday & she also got engaged on the same month.
so, me & my friends who are also her blog readers decided to do a small private party for her.
it started with a facebook's message which i sent to the girls from the victorian themed tea party organized by wani last time.

so they agree & the first thing that we did was to decide on when to hold the party.
there were 9 of us & i want all 9 to be there.
finally, we chose 26th february since that's the only date that which everyone can come.

so yeah, the party was a success!
we asked sheila (wani's brother's girlfriend) to help us in getting wani to the party.
she did a great job that wani didn't have a single clue about it until she saw us saying "surprised!"
anyway wani blogged about it here.

we got 3 weeks to plan & do everything.
luckily i got supportive friends with me which made things went easier.

and below is the summary of our plan.

Surprise Engagement cum Birthday Celebration for Wany

Tasks, Roles & Responsibilities:
1) Aishah - book venue, order foods, order & collect cake, collect money, prepare props & deco (deco inc. banner, balloons, balloon sticks, name tags, corsage, etc.)
2) Ayna - be a middle person to communicate with sheila & update her abt our plan & program
3) Yati - give advice on menu, take charge for our game slot (plan n host)
4) Zuen - help yati for the game slot
5) Shikin - prepare stuff for present (background paper, printed pics, cute accessories e.g. buttons, ribbons; aishah will provide colored magic pens)
6) Nurul - prepare welcoming speech, be the host of the day
7) Raisya - nurul's partner/back up plan
8) Afra -
9) Lina - our photographer of the day

wani arrived at the party a lil bit late since she was overslept.
so we decided to cancel the little game slot since some of us need to get back home & go somewhere else after the party.
but nevermind, it was still a success & we still had fun.
good ambience, good friends, good foods, good laughs.. everything was in place i think.

i love these girls so much because they are so sweet & we all got something in common.
i wish we can have another meet up later & please know that i'd always love to be the organizer!
haha, as much as i love to get involve in wedding or engagement party, i also love to do or take part in this kind of event.

school break!

so the school holiday has started, what did you already do & what are you going to do with the kids?
there's a lot of free time ahead, err well, for the kids of course.
i'm sure the kids are so looking forward for fun & interesting things to do during this break.
otherwise, they'll feel really boring because this year-end school holiday isn't short!

when i was a kid, my ayah at that time was a full time lecturer, not yet a businessman.
so he got plenty of time for the family & he always had to go somewhere for a course or workshop or seminar or conference or anything & he always brought us together with him.
so technically, we enjoyed the school breaks so much because we can go to the hotel.

haha staying at the hotel without going anywhere was still a fun thing to do back then.
because you know, we can swim & swim & swim at the swimming pool & kids never get bored with swimming pool, no?
and another best thing about staying at the hotel was to sleep in an airconditioned room!
haha yes, i know it sounds so jakun, but yeah, we didn't have aircond at the house during that era, so it was exciting to spend a few nights staying in an airconditioned room.

apart from spending some nights somewhere for a holiday, my parents also tend to bring us for a day trip to places like zoos, museums, science centres, exhibitions, book fairs, and well, you know, such educational places.

speaking about book fairs, i don't know if it's just me, but i think the book fairs back then were a lot fun than what we have today.
okay, maybe it's just me.
maybe at that time, being a kid & not knowing that there are actually so much fun things to do made me think that book fairs are fun.
now that i already a grown up, i think it is more fun to spend time for myself, like going for a spa visit, doing some window shopping & doing all the fun things to do.

but apparently i was wrong.
book fairs are fun!

if you don't agree with me, wait until you see this!

it's a book fair, plus all the fun things combined together!

seriously lovelies, you should consider bringing your children to this place this weekend 26th-28th, 9am-9pm.
the program will take place at banglo pink AinMaisarah, no. 12, banglo ukhwah, titiwangsa.

there will be loads of books (duhh, of course it's a book fair!) & many fun activities to be done.
there will be a mini spa with facial for teens & manicure services!
and also a makeover & a photoshooting session!

my kids would love to go there!
err.. not until i have one :)

a victorian tea party

last week, i got an invitation for a victorian little tea party organized by shazwani hamid which was happening yesterday.

the party was for her blog's 3rd anniversary & it was really private because she invited only about 20 lucky readers.
so yeay, i was one of them.
prolly because i am the 1st person who commented on this entry --> care for a cuppa?

knowing that the theme was "victorian", frankly, i don't have anything victorian in my wardrobe.
anyway, keys to victorian outfits are ruffles, pleated, laces, black, white, velvet, pearls, feathers, etc.

so i tried searching for a victorian outfit the other day & i found this beautiful black long-sleeved lace dress.
i wanted to pair the dress with a pants or skirt, but i cannot find any nice matching pants/skirt.

but then i remembered that i have this one chiffon top with ruffles at the front.
it's not black or white (it's blue) but i was thinking of "modernizing" the victorian style with something vibrant.
and in order to make it more victorian, i bought a small headpiece with feathers & a victorian-ey chunky ring to complete the style.

cozy place, nice foods & great companions.. we had fun enjoying our tea/coffee with some english scones, pies, sandwiches, chocolate & butter cakes, belgium chocs, cookies, etc.
there was a little game too, lucky draws & best dress award which i won nothing, as usual.
but still, there's still something from queen wani for everyone - each of us got an o.p.i. nail lacquer as a doorgift - thanks wani!
and thanks for organizing a very nice tea party.
for the next party or gathering, please count me in!
